New models - MG - MG3 - VibeMG 3 Vibe joins the rangeBudget busting MG 3 Vibe rolls in priced from $21,990 drive-away1 May 2025 By MATT BROGAN MG MOTOR has added a budget-friendly Vibe variant to its popular MG 3 range, the new entrant arriving this month priced from $21,990 drive-away making it the cheapest competitor in the Light passenger segment.
The petrol-powered model is motivated by a 1.5-litre four-cylinder engine producing 81kW/142Nm on standard 91RON unleaded petrol. MG Motor quotes a combined cycle fuel consumption figure of 6.0 litres per 100km.
Feature highlights of the newcomer include 15-inch steel wheels stopped by four-wheel disc brakes, cloth upholstery, halogen headlights, a reversing camera, 7.0-inch digital instrument cluster, and 10.25-inch infotainment array with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.
Importantly, the MG 3 Vibe also arrives as standard with MG Motor’s comprehensive Pilot Safety technologies, including seven airbags, adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, blind spot detection, lane departure and keeping assistants, rear cross-traffic alert, speed sign recognition, and more.
As elsewhere in the MG Motor passenger vehicle range, the MG 3 Vibe is backed by a 10-year/250,000km warranty.
“We recognise many Australians are doing it tough with the cost of living,” said MG Motor Australia chief executive officer Peter Ciao.
“We are proud to deliver the MG3 Vibe, providing great value for Australians as they look to purchase a new car.
“With safety features including seven airbags and backed by MG’s industry leading 10 year/250,000km warranty is an excellent combination for first car buyers.”
Mr Ciao noted the success of the MG 3 against its Light passenger segment rivals, the model range totalling 3081 unit sales in the first quarter of 2025, or a 48.8 per cent share of the segment.
The MG 3 currently outsells all Light passenger segment contenders, including the Mazda 2 (1468 units / 23.2 market share points), Suzuki Swift (1044 units / 16.5 per cent), and Toyota Yaris (720 units / 11.4 per cent).
“The all-new MG3 has quickly connected with buyers in its first year on the market,” he added.
“Expanding the MG3 range to include the Vibe will support more motorists to step into a new car. We’re pleased to continue offering leading value for Australian motorists.”
