News - Toyota - LandCruiser 70Toyota LandCruiser 70 Series orders paused, againStrong customer demand, low production levels force order pause for 70 Series GXL Wagon18 Jul 2025 By MATT BROGAN TOYOTA has confirmed that it will pause orders for its LandCruiser 70 Series GXL Wagon automatic citing “strong customer demand and relatively low production volumes”.
Taking effect from 17 July, the order pause does not affect other LandCruiser 70 Series variants which remain available to order from Toyota dealerships nationally.
The Japanese importer says it remains “committed to providing complete transparency” to its customers, and that it is working with Toyota Motor Company in Japan to “optimise supply”.
“We know in the past, particularly through the COVID-19 pandemic and during the global semi-conductor supply shortage, (that) vehicle supply challenges caused a degree of frustration with our customers with wait times for delivery of new vehicles being extended significantly,” said Toyota Australia vice president of sales, marketing, and franchise operations Sean Hanley.
“We never want to be the cause of that frustration again, so together with our dealer network, we are committed to carefully managing any supply issues to provide complete transparency for customers when issues outside our control arise.
“We continue to work with our parent company in Japan to optimise production and supply levels of all Toyota vehicles to ensure we can deliver and satisfy Australian customer demands.
“Since we launched the new four-cylinder LandCruiser 70 Series in late 2023, we have seen its appeal grow for Australian customers with strong demand across the entire range,” he said.
Updated with a turbocharged 2.8-litre four-cylinder diesel engine and available six-speed automatic transmission in late 2023, the LandCruiser 70 Series farewelled its long-serving 4.5-litre V8 diesel across all model grades and body styles.
Mr Hanley said “good supplies” remain of those variants available to order, saying some dealers have stock of particular models available for immediate delivery.
For those models requiring a dealer order – and that are not currently in stock – Mr Hanley said a “two- to four-month” delivery timeframe is to be expected.
