Skoda locks in Kodiaq PHEV for Oz

New-generation Skoda Kodiaq range to be bolstered by arrival of plug-in hybrid variant

31 Oct 2025

SKODA Australia is set to further expand its Kodiaq SUV range with the announcement that it will introduce a plug-in hybrid variant to the range in early 2026.

Offering what Skoda says is the ideal combination of high specification and long electric range, the Kodiaq PHEV will be positioned between the Sportline and RS grades as a comfort-focused variant with generous levels of standard equipment.

The model will be powered by the combination of a turbocharged 1.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine producing 150kW/350Nm and an electric motor making 85kW/330Nm. Skoda quotes a 0-100km/h acceleration time of 8.4 seconds, an all-electric driving range of 112kW and a combined fuel consumption figure of 1.85 litres per 100km.

AC and DC charging are available at 11kW and 50kW capacity respectively.

Skoda says the Kodiaq PHEV will offer an all-electric driving mode and various hybrid drive modes via its central touchscreen, as well as selective brake energy recuperation modes.

The five-seat model offers 745 litres of cargo space and a long list of standard features, including 19-inch alloy wheels, keyless entry and ignition, heated and power folding door mirrors, a powered driver’s seat, heated front seats, tri-zone climate control, a 13.0-inch central infotainment touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, five USB-C outlets, and dual wireless device charging pads.

As elsewhere in the Kodiaq line-up, standard safety and driver assistance technologies include adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, blind spot monitoring, lane assist, side assist, traffic sign recognition, nine airbags, and more.

Further, and with the Launch Edition version of the Kodiaq having now finished production, a new Select with Signature Package will be offered across the 2.0 TSI and PHEV line-up.

The Signature Package (pricing TBA) includes eight-way massage front seats, power adjustable passenger seat with lumbar and memory, Intelligent Park Assist, Surround Area View, Matrix LED headlights with Dynamic Light Assist, illuminated front grille, Virtual Pedal (hands free tailgate), a heated steering wheel, heated outboard seats, head-up display, and rear dynamic indicators.

“For customers who want the most cutting-edge technology, our latest plug-in hybrid electric vehicle powertrain in the Kodiaq Select offers over 100km of electric range together with the flexibility of AC and DC charging,” said Skoda Australia product manager Aline Carrullo.

“The Kodiaq Select PHEV is the perfect complement to both our Kodiaq Sportline and Kodiaq RS, positioned in between both with an emphasis on style, technology and premium appointments.”

The Skoda Kodiaq Select PHEV will arrive in showrooms in the first quarter of 2026.
