Lancer Evo powers up

MITSUBISHI has released a more powerful version of its iconic Lancer Evolution X in the UK that a company insider says may also be considered for Australia.

The FQ-330 SST model produces 25kW more power than the regular Evo, giving it 242kW at 6500rpm and 437Nm of torque at 3500rpm (71Nm more than the Australian model), thanks to the addition of a high-performance exhaust, an intercooler piping kit, racing suction pipe and upgraded catalytic converter.

Equipped with the six-speed twin-clutch transmission, the FQ-330 is three-tenths of a second faster to 100km/h at a startling 4.4s and in the UK costs 3000 pounds (about $6000) more than the standard Evo X.
