First look: Sidewinder wind up?

WE KNOW that Hyundai Motor Co intends to turn its Kia brand into something sportier than we currently see on Australian roads, but what are we to make of the Sidewinder? Not much, really. While the Australian importer left off the remark on its promotional material about the Korean marque having "no plans to produce (even) a concept vehicle of the Kia Sidewinder", overseas reports have made it clear that this is nothing more than a radical sketch.

The Sidewinder was penned by US-based Kia designer Marc Mainville for a Los Angeles auto show design contest.

A side wind-up? That’s more like it.
