Ford confirms its next-generation Territory will offer diesel and LPG options20 Apr 2007 FORD'S next-generation Territory SUV will be built using a development of the existing vehicle’s platform, but will have additional engine options, according to Ford Asia-Pacific design director Scott Strong. "It’s a great platform," said Mr Strong. "They’ll do some things to improve the chassis dynamics like they always do, with ride and handling and braking, but the underpinnings will remain the same." Mr Strong said that, as expected, the Territory was being engineered for a turbo-diesel engine and also for LPG autogas. "We think it’s a great product. It’s one thing we’ve done right and we just need to keep turning up the wick." We have a lot of customers that want gas and diesels and I think the engineering group is getting deadly serious about trying to make that happen."
